Markarian’s Chain is a line of galaxies visible within the constellation Virgo and is part of the larger Virgo galaxy cluster. Within this image, 7 galaxies are readily identifiable. The two galaxies near the center of the image are interacting as evidenced by the faint emissions emanating between them.
