The Whirlpool Galaxy is an interacting grand design spiral galaxy located in the Constellation Canes Venatici. NGC 5195, a dwarf galaxy, can be seen readily interacting with M51 at the end of one of its spiral arms. It is very neat to see this interstellar dance occurring before our eyes.
